taco

This is a bean taco and I made it. I made the guac and I fried the tortilla into a crispy salty goodness.

The Dollar Store
August 27th, 2010

dollarstore

This post is about saving money: I have found the promised land. It’s 5 minutes from my current place of residence. This dollar store sells fresh produce, food of all kinds, candies of delight. I got all this for $8.33. Sometimes I buy Oreos.

Yogurtland

yogurtland

So, this is a place were you go and you self-serve yourself any variety of frozen yogurt you want. Then you pile on AWESOMENESS. As much AWESOMENESS as you want. Fruit. Candy. Honey. Cereal. Candy. Then you pay by the ounce. 30 center per ounce that is. I spent 4.92. That should give you an idea about how many ounces I ate.

Mac n’ Cheese
May 25th, 2010

maccheese

My very first homemade mac ‘n cheese. I made a roux (thanks, Brett) and then I melted in the cheddar cheese. The consistency was really nice, but I think I should have used more expensive cheese (sorry Richfood brand).

Chili Steak Stew
May 21st, 2010

chilisteak

So, I have actually been cooking a lot, but it’s all either tasted very bad or looked like a pile of sick. But luckily, I corrected my wrongs and made a delicious chili tasting stew with beans, veggies, and sliced up leftover steak and potatoes my dad made. Mmm!

Shepard’s Pie
April 7th, 2010

Look! I cooked something again! ‘Bout time, I hear you say. I haven’t eaten it yet, but it looks presentable. Burger, peas, onions, beans, and my mom’s leftover cheesy mashers. I’ve also been eating cheesecake every day.

UPDATE: I forgot I put bacon in this. It is delicious.

Dutch Eating Place

The thing I will miss the most about Philadelphia. Yes, that is heavy cream.

Taco Seasoning
February 6th, 2010

I bought this taco mix from Trader Joe’s for 79 cents. I used half of it today to make 2 meals. You have to add tomato sauce, which I thought was weird. Basically, I just think it’s adorable (and cheaper than that other kind of taco mix).

Chili a la Trina
February 6th, 2010

Mmm. My wonderful cousin Trina gave me the ingredients for her favorite chili recipe for Christmas and I finally made it. I’d tell you what’s in it, but I suspect most people besides myself already knew what goes in chili. It’s was phenomenal though. I ate it for the entire week. Thanks Trina!

Praline Granola
February 2nd, 2010

Ahhhhhh! Someone kill me now. All my life goals have been met. Vanilla Yogurt with Pecan Praline Granola. $5 bucks for all of it, which should last a few days. If I can stop myself from eating it in one sitting, that is. This is so god-like.
