El Cap

On my final day in Yosemite, I took the shuttle to El Capitan to see the big wall climbers. The park was hosting an “Ask a Climber (Ranger)” program on El Cap bridge where they set up telescopes for you to watch the climbing parties. Saddle Peak Routes

Went climbing at Saddle Peak in Malibu today. The routes were were bolted crack systems and face climbing. I liked that a lot because I got to practice my trad placements and sport leading at the same time. I climbed four or so routes, the routes I led felt 5.8 and the routes I tope-roped felt really hard. Without a guidebook, were were just guessing the routes and ratings. I was hope a particularly tough climb was a 5.10a, but Mountain Project said pretty much everything I climbed was 5.8. The best part was that I built and cleaned my first anchor, including the switch to rappel. I can finally be a sport climb leader on my own now.
